WhatsApp Features Overview
Voxvaani integrates directly with Meta’s WhatsApp Business API via secure OAuth, enabling you to send template-based messages, manage two-way conversations, run targeted campaigns, and automate customer engagement — all from a single platform.
WhatsApp messages are deducted from your plan’s WhatsApp message balance on a per-message basis. Each outbound campaign message and each automated reply counts against your balance. Review your current plan balance in Wallet & Billing before launching large campaigns.

Full Comparison
| Aspect | API Template Messages | Bulk Messaging |
|---|---|---|
| Requires Meta Approval | Yes — templates must be pre-approved | No |
| Message Content | Pre-defined template with variables | Flexible custom content |
| Delivery Channel | WhatsApp Business API | Alternative channel |
| Analytics | Full delivery/read tracking | Available per implementation |
| Rate Limits | Governed by Meta and phone number tier | Varies by account configuration |
| Best For | Compliance-first, branded campaigns | High-volume, flexible messaging |
For most business use cases, the API template channel is recommended as it maintains WhatsApp’s quality standards, provides reliable delivery tracking, and keeps your business compliant with Meta’s policies.
Mind the 24-Hour Window. Once a customer sends you a message, you have exactly 24 hours to reply with free-form messages. After this window closes, you can only send approved template messages. Any free-form reply sent outside this window will fail. Use automation rules to ensure prompt responses within the window.
Plan for Template Approval. Meta’s template review process typically takes a few hours but can extend to 1–2 business days during high submission volumes. Submit templates well before your campaign launch date. Ensure your templates include clear placeholder examples and avoid promotional language in utility templates to minimize rejection risk.
Before You Begin
To use WhatsApp features on Voxvaani, you must have the following set up in your Meta Business account:
- Meta Business Manager — A verified business portfolio on Meta’s platform. Create one at business.facebook.com .
- WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) — An approved WABA associated with your Business Manager. This requires business verification by Meta.
- Registered Phone Number — A phone number that is not already registered with WhatsApp Messenger or another WhatsApp Business account. The number must be able to receive SMS or voice calls for verification.
- Approved Message Templates — Required for initiating any proactive (business-initiated) conversation with customers.
If you are new to WhatsApp Business API, we recommend reviewing Meta’s official onboarding guide alongside these Voxvaani docs.
Available WhatsApp Features
Connect Meta (WhatsApp)
Connect your Meta Business account to Voxvaani through Meta’s OAuth flow. The system automatically discovers your Business Manager, WABA, and registered phone numbers to streamline setup. You can configure single or multiple business portfolios and switch between them as needed.
WhatsApp Campaigns
Launch targeted WhatsApp campaigns using Meta-approved message templates. Define recipient lists, customize template variables per contact, and schedule campaigns for optimal delivery windows. Each campaign tracks delivery status, read receipts, and failure reasons in real time.
Use cases: Promotional offers, order confirmations, shipping notifications, event reminders, and account alerts.
Message Templates
Sync, view, and manage templates directly from your WABA. Templates define the message structure, dynamic variables, and optional interactive elements (quick reply buttons, call-to-action buttons). Templates must pass Meta’s review before they can be used in campaigns.
Template categories include:
- Marketing — Promotions, offers, newsletters, product launches
- Utility — Order confirmations, appointment reminders, account updates
- Authentication — One-time passcodes (OTP), login verification
Inbox
A unified conversation view for all incoming and outgoing WhatsApp messages. Assign conversations to team members, mark threads as resolved or pending, and view complete message history with any contact. The inbox also displays message delivery and read status indicators.
Analytics
Track WhatsApp messaging performance with delivery rates, read rates, response times, and campaign-level metrics. Filter by date range, template, or campaign to identify trends and optimize your messaging strategy.
Automation
Define rules to automatically respond to incoming messages based on trigger conditions such as keyword matches, exact phrase matching, or message type. Route complex queries to human agents while handling FAQs automatically. Combine automation with AI-powered conversational agents for intelligent, context-aware replies.
Use cases: Welcome auto-replies, business hours responses, lead qualification, and support ticket creation.
Bulk Messaging
An alternative non-API channel for high-volume WhatsApp messaging. Useful when template-based API messaging is not suitable for your use case, or when you need to send custom content that does not fit the template structure.
How WhatsApp Messaging Works
WhatsApp Policy Compliance
Meta enforces strict messaging policies for businesses using the WhatsApp Business API. Key policies to be aware of:
- Opt-in Requirement: You may only message customers who have explicitly opted in to receive WhatsApp messages from your business. Unsolicited messaging can result in account restriction.
- 24-Hour Customer Service Window: Once a customer sends you a message, you have a 24-hour window to reply with free-form messages. After this window closes, you can only send approved template messages.
- Template Approval: All proactive outbound messages must use Meta-approved templates. Submitting low-quality or non-compliant templates can delay approval or lead to rejection.
- Message Quality Ratings: Meta monitors how your messages are received. High blocking or spam reporting rates can degrade your phone number’s quality rating, limiting your messaging capability.
Monitor your phone number’s quality rating in Meta Business Manager → WhatsApp → Account Health. A restricted or banned number will interrupt all WhatsApp features on Voxvaani.
