Email Campaigns
Send bulk email campaigns to your contact lists. Create, schedule, and track delivery with detailed monitoring.
Overview
Email campaigns let you send targeted email messages to segments of your contact database. Each campaign uses an HTML template with per-contact variable substitution. Email balance is deducted for each successful send.
Campaign Types
| Type | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Newsletter | Regular updates and content | Monthly product digest |
| Promotional | Special offers and discounts | Seasonal sale announcement |
| Transactional | Triggered by user actions | Welcome email, order confirmation |
| Announcement | One-time company news | New feature launch, event invitation |
Spam Compliance. Every campaign must include a visible unsubscribe link. Contacts who unsubscribe are automatically excluded from future campaigns. Ensure your email content complies with applicable regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.) and your sending practices follow anti-spam guidelines.

Campaign Settings and Capabilities
Sending Options
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Send Rate | Control how many emails are sent per minute to avoid overwhelming your SMTP server |
| Retry on Failure | Automatically retry failed deliveries up to a configured limit |
| Track Opens | Embed a tracking pixel to monitor open rates |
| Track Clicks | Rewrite links to track click-through rates |
Batch Sending
Campaigns with large recipient lists are sent in batches. The platform processes batches sequentially to:
- Respect SMTP server rate limits
- Allow pausing and resuming mid-campaign
- Prevent your domain from being flagged for sudden high volume
Batching Behavior. Each batch contains a configurable number of emails. Between batches, the system waits for the configured interval before sending the next batch. This throttling is essential for maintaining a healthy sender reputation.
Campaign Management
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Pause | Temporarily stop an active campaign — already queued emails will finish sending |
| Resume | Continue a paused campaign from where it stopped |
| Delete | Remove a campaign and its records |
| View Reports | See detailed delivery and engagement statistics |
Monitoring and Metrics
| Metric | What It Tracks |
|---|---|
| Delivery Rate | Percentage of emails successfully delivered to recipient servers |
| Bounce Rate | Emails rejected by recipient mail servers (hard bounces: permanent failures; soft bounces: temporary issues) |
| Open Rate | Percentage of recipients who opened the email (requires tracking pixel) |
| Click Rate | Percentage of recipients who clicked at least one link (requires link tracking) |
| Unsubscribe Rate | Percentage of recipients who opted out from this campaign |
| Complaint Rate | Recipients who marked the email as spam |
High Bounce Rates. If your bounce rate exceeds 5%, pause the campaign immediately. High bounce rates damage your sender reputation and can lead to your sending domain or IP being blocklisted.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Likely Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Emails not sending | SMTP configuration error | Verify credentials in Organization Settings and run the SMTP test tool |
| High bounce rate | Invalid or outdated email addresses | Clean your contact list and remove hard bounced addresses |
| Emails landing in spam | Poor sender reputation or missing authentication | Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC; review email content for spam triggers |
| Low open rate | Unengaging subject line or wrong audience | A/B test subject lines and verify you are targeting the right contact segment |
| Links not tracking | Link tracking not enabled | Enable link tracking in campaign settings |
Tips
- Test your email template by sending it to yourself before launching a campaign
- Segment your contact list for better targeting (by tags, past engagement, or demographics)
- Monitor delivery rates and bounce reports — stop campaigns with high bounce rates early
- Schedule campaigns for optimal times based on your audience’s timezone
- Keep subject lines concise (under 50 characters) for better mobile visibility
